this is my usual "visual explanation" and is not ment abusing:
you drink a bottle of milk
then you fill the empty bottle full with water
how should it be possible to get the milk out of the bottle a second time
(or even more times) ?
or
how much liquid can one fill into a 1 Liter bottle and get out at a later time?
bingo - 1 Liter .
So - the bottle full of 1 Liter water - where should it store another Liter
of milk ?

Usually the answer I get after this is: Yes, this is computer electronics,
thats your daily work - but I have no clue about that stuff ....
but
thats pure logic - but once the word "computer" is related, this feature
is "switched off" instantly from lots of (if not most) of users/customers.
Sad

you should save all the recovered files on another place to avoid data overwriting.

Best way to recover over-written data is to over-write it again with the backed up copy of the original data you want to recover.
LOL
