Hello everyone,

It's the first time I'm using MHDD on a real computer, whitout taking out the HDD, and when I'm trying to scan my disk (from a DOS USB-Key) I have the message : "This drive does not support LBA mode or not detected."

What I don't get is that everything is blue (DRDY etc..), or it seems like, because the top left of my screen is bit.... Well, I can't see throught

If anybody has an idea,

Thanks for stopping by,

Symi

Well, I tried every of the ports because none had a name who allowed me to guess wether it was my disk or not.

My drive works, I just wanted to see if it was ok or if I would need to replace it, because lately I was feeling it was a bit lower than before.

Thanks for your help :)

My drive is directly connected by a SATA port to the motherboard.

I'm using a bootable usb key, whiche is emulating a DOS environment. I made it emulating a floppy disk.

Actually, I'm afraid that the disk isn't started yet because I tried other softwares from a CD and they were unable to see my disk.
But what I don't get is why then DRDY would be in blue ? It should be red if the soft is unable to see the disk, shouldn't it ?

THanks again !

I would try temporarily reconfiguring your SATA controller in your BIOS for legacy or IDE compatibility mode. This will make your drive look like PATA.

As for your problems at "the top left of my screen", is this something to do with the screen being in different modes for DOS and Windows/Linux? If so, does your monitor have an "auto" button to align the display?

fzabkar : I'll try this tomorrow, thanks. And my screen's problem is actually a leak of liquid crystals :/

If your display allows it, try adjusting the horizontal/vertical positions in the geometry settings.
