While I myself buy really most of my hw stuff with PayPal - I do not accept
that to pay me

because

- I had problems with a customer reclaiming money raising an issue with PayPal
and it took a long time to get the money
- a very good friend and collegue here from this forum offered service and was
cheated several times on the last day (70th day?) when one can open a case
and request money back.
Even with documentation and signed contract that the "customer" knows about
all risks - money was lost several times. In total several thousand dollars.

With bank remittance such cheaters have no chance, there are no fees within EU
and outside - it depends on the bank and the country.

I tend to agree with some of what you stated but remember, the SELLER is accepting paypal, if you want to buy R-Studio with paypal you can do so and the risk is for the seller, not you - the buyer paying with paypal.

Actually, the tests were done and the report was written by Americans. BTW, R-Studio is a Canadian product.

I'm pretty sure that all the active users of this forum know better than to believe these reviews.

We recently had a project that was previously at one of the two "top" labs. The client paid $600 USD for a corrupted image file of his drive, with absolutely no recoverable data on it. They said the drive was encrypted and it took them about a month to do. We received the drive for a second opinion, changed the faulty PCB, mirrored the drive with no bad sectors and had 100% of the data recovered in about 2 hours of receiving the drive. Client was very happy to pay us our base rate of $350 CAD (about $270USD).

Whether or not it is a paid advertisement, the review is worthless. Top Ten Reviews are not willing to release their testing methodology, so their results cannot be independently reproduced and verified.

IMO the most trustworthy reviews are those where there is no suggestion of commercial bias. The reviewer must be completely at arm's length from the product and its developers. This means that there must be no communication between the two, and the reviewer would ideally obtain the product anonymously via normal retail channels. That's how the Australian Consumers Association goes about it. Also, since the product is targeted at end users who have no prior knowledge of data recovery, then something could be said for engaging reviewers who are not data recovery professionals. Moreover, these professionals could possibly be using one or more of the reviewed products, so there would be an unconscious preference for the more familiar product.

Tell that to a local programme here known for their lame attempts at passing off advertorials for suppliments as legitimate segments.

If they act like a judge, jury and executioner in their reviews, it's hard to put your trust onto such writeups unless if the reviewer is reputable enough for most people to vouch on.
