If this is applicable to your drive, then start by extracting all the files.
1) Install 7-Zip
2) Right click the zipfile ST31500341AS_CC1H.zip and choose 7-Zip/extract to ST31500341AS_CC1H
3) Go into ST31500341AS_CC1H and right-click Brinks-4D8H-CC1H.ISO and choose 7-Zip/extract to Brinks-4D8H-CC1H
4) Go into Brinks-4D8H-CC1H then [BOOT], right-cligh Bootable_1.44M.img and choose 7-Zip/extract to Bootable_1.44M
5) Go into Bootable_1.44M and right-click 15TBCC1H.ZIP and choose 7-Zip/extract to 15TBCC1H
your firmware is the 8hCC1h.lod file
read through all the .txt, .bat files etc and see what the next steps are, and if it applies to your drive.
sometimes there is a reason your disk rejects an update
backing up files should be your first step of course before mucking around with firmware

The updater does not check your existing firmware for compatibility, so there is no need to force anything. That said, you must not apply the CCxx update over incompatible firmware.
WARNING: Do NOT use on any drive with SDxx firmware!!!!
You
will brick your drive if you do the above. I have witnessed it. Also, do not apply this retail update to OEM firmware, eg Dell, HP, etc.

The flash.bat file has the following lines:
- Code:
set exe=fdl457.exe
set model=
set family=Brinks
set firmware=8HCC1H.lod
set options=-s -x -b -v -a 10
set model=ST31500341AS
%exe% -m %family% -f %firmware% -i %model% %options%
The resulting command line is ...
fdl457 -m Brinks -f 8HCC1H.lod -i ST31500341AS -s -x -b -v -a 10
