Hello Everyone. I am new on this forum.

I just opened up a tech shop in Dominica and I am planning to take on some cases for HDD data recovery. At my previous job we used PC3000 and DeepSpar DDI3 and DDI4. However these are incredibly expensive for my operation. Each one is over 3500 USD :-0.

Software, no matter how well it’s built can’t do recovery right because of PC limitations itself. Does anyone know if there is a hardware solution (Data Recovery Imager of some sort) that doesn’t require to sell a kidney and one of my kids? Any experience that you had in the past?

I would really appreciate your help

It is cheap, but very unstable :-(

But if that's all the budget can stretch to, then as long as you know (and stick to) your limitations then........

I personally wouldn't like to know that my valuable data is in the hands of someone who doesn't have the proper tools and running a data recovery company on a shoestring. But of course as long as they are aware of the facts then why not? :-)

I was thinking of MRT but I didn't find any reliable documentation or reviews. @pcimage can you tell me what is unreliable in MRT?

It's not from personal experience to be honest, but from fellow pros that have tried it out as a "overflow" system for when a real PC3k is not available and found it unstable.

I had thought about buying some MRT for such an occasion (for example for "simple" jobs that are time consuming, tying up a Pc3k channel) but quickly decided against it after asking for "real life" experiences with it. Just have to stump up some more €€€ for more Pc3k and/or Deepspar.

Just bought a SAS Deepspar imager, and I must say its pretty good. Not cheap, but top quality! :-)

If MRT are listening and want to give me one to trial and review for free, then bring it on. I stand to be corrected!! :-)
