Need help free firmware for Toshiba & Hitachi Data Recovery

Hi,
I have baught a USB to Serial converter and has Seagate & WD firmware . But still couldn't find a working firmware to Toshiba & Hitachi HDD's . Please help me to find solution..

What are tryint to accomplish exactly?

Looks like he is using some sort of USB enclosure/adaptor to SATA and he can use Seagate and WD drives with it but not Toshiba and Hitachi ?

Highly appreciate your feed back, It is actually the device which is connect to Rx,Tx & Ground jumpers of the hard disk & connect the device into usb port and working F3 commands for Seagate.

1 - You can't write "firmware" on WD drives using TTL adaptor, oly ROM and you can't write any ROM to the PCB if the ROM is not native or "adapted" to have specific adaptive info to the drive, so there is nothing of big use to do with TTL on WD.

2 - If you have terminal only you are very limited even on Seagate.

3 - You can't just "write" firmware on the Toshiba and Hitachi with a TTL, it doesn't work that way.

Actually even PC-3000 can't read WD SA via TTL, rather it uses vendor specific ATA commands through SATA. Only read/writes ROM using TTL in boot ROM code mode.

I don't think you can access SA on WD drives with TTL only.

You CAN do that on SAMSUNG drives.

Thanks for the all information. As a beginner im looking for firmware app + device at lower cost than MRT or PC3K. Can any one give me an indication where can I buy?
