Which Linux distro you advice to work with HddSuperClone? I would like to have one installed not a portable version. I noticed you disabled auto mount in the livecd, does HddSuperClone mounts the drives automatically when cloning?
Just curious if whatever Linux I choose if I disable auto mount, it will work without any problem.
I'm new to Linux, so sorry for noob questions.

It is always best to clone/image a drive when it is not mounted, as you don't want the OS interfering. And is always best to have automount disabled when working with failing disks, again to keep the OS from interfering. HDDSuperClone does not mount the drive at all. Whatever Linux flavor you choose should work, but you should know how to turn off automount for it as a best practice. The worst case is you can manually unmount a drive if needed, but it is best to not have it mount in the first place. I prefer Xubuntu, but that is my personal preference. There are other reasons for my choice, but they involve the program building and compiling process, not program operation.

Hi guys, looking for to get a PCIe SATA expansion card, just to have more SATA ports, are there any specific requirements working with Hddsuperclone, or any regular card would theoretically work?

Any regular card should work. As long as it doesn't require a special driver, or has some fancy capabilities (which would most likely require a special driver), then it should work. If it is plug and play, then is should work just the same as any built in SATA ports.

Hello.

I have been using your tool in its free version for a few years and have seen how it has evolved.

I am about to purchase a YKUSH 3 stabilizer USB card and see the results with unstable WD USB drives.

What is the difference between the YKUSH 3 stabilizer card and the DEEPSPAR USB Stabilizer?

Do they do the same?

Do you have any video using the YKUSH 3 with the HDDSUPERCLONE?
On your youtube channel I only see using a relay.

YKush is no stabilizer, it's an on/off switch that can be controlled over software. It does not have the firmware / software that USB Stabilizer has, this has to be provided by the software controlling it.

So the software has to detect an error condition and then decide whether a power cycle is needed > send command to YKUSH to power down and then send command to power up again. In this case HDDSuperClone. So it allows you to power cycle, that's it. It's not similar to USB Stabilizer. Once you combine it with HDDSuperClone then you have something like USB Stabilizer.

Ykush sits in path 'host > usb > ykush > usb drive' normally.

To add to this, the only way to get true USB stabilizer like functionality requires using the Direct USB mode (with the relay/YKush). And it is correct that at this time I do not have any videos demonstrating that mode. It has been on my to do list, but I keep forgetting about it as I don't often get questions about it. And when I do get questions and reply, there is no reply back so I don't know if my suggestions worked or not, and then I forget about it again. I will say the timer settings are the key to success, and every case is different.

Well, I want to see that video. If the combination of YKush 3 and hddsuperclone Pro is capable of doing the same thing as the DEEPSPAR stabilizer, I'm interested.

Okay, I will move making videos for the direct usb mode up my list of things to do. But understand that it will likely take a few weeks or more for me to accomplish this. I could have high hopes of only a couple weeks, but usually something happens that delays my plans.

Just out of curiosity @maximums, do you own DeepSpar USB Stabilizer? Just curious to know how you expect to get stabilizer-like functions if you have nothing with which to compare. It will be interesting to see.
