Issue to merge 2 partition

December 30th, 2016, 5:16

Hello

I cloned an SSD Samsung EVO 850 - 250G to a larger 500G

On the 250G, I had :
- OS boot partition of 217G (C:)
- Recovery partition of 20G (created by windows 10)

Now when I clone it on the 500G, I get (see attachment)
- OS boot partition of 217G (C:)
- Recovery partition of 20G (created by windows 10)
- Free partition of 227G that I formatted (D:)

Now I would like to extend C: with the space of D: to get a single big partition C:
With the partition tools that I try (paragon, easus), I can't because of the 20G partition in the middle....

Any idea ?
Thanks for help

You can delete your "D" partition, move the 20GB one to the end of the drive, then expand the "C" partition.

But maybe then the recovery partition will not work anymore as intended. If you decide you don´t need it, you can also delete them both and resize the C partition to occupy the whole space.

Use Gparted. Its free!

You can move the partitions one at a time. Then resize the "C" partition using the empty space.
