There are people paying for "pirated" or "stolen" TREX AUTO. They are selling it at $600. There are even people asking $500 or $300 for stuff like Burn-In code that most likely was downloaded from ACE update box.
If you think that WDMarvel original would cost more or less $150 and SHT $200, if you put a price of $150 to each firmware tool and if you think of SeDiv as having 5 (Hitachi, WD, Seagate, Samsung and Toshiba) you would have to ask 5X$150 and that would be $750.
Now SeDiv only costs $300 for a new user and $100 for older users. Even for a new user it would be HALF of a SINGLE SD HDD Doctor. If you buy a Salvation Data WD Doctor you will pay $600 and you will end up with a piece of JUNK that you can't use. SeDiv for WD is the BEST TOOL EVER for WD. One of the most powerfull if not the most powerfull.
(I still like WDMarvel but SeDiv for WD have more options like loading DIR from the drive itself (initialize the drive by loading info from the drive), etc ... Even if you have WDMarvel and you like it more than SeDiv for WD you might still need SeDiv for stuff that WDMarvel can't do. Also SeDiv can now access the drive by WD TTL as PC3K.
So for the price you pay it's VERY WORTH !!!
If you can't make $100 / year to justify the price of SeDiv updates than you have to re-think if you really need the updates to start with.
