Hi,

i'm looking for any software-tool which is able to read the preamp-type on Samsung-Drives.

Background: I'm searching for a donor Head-Assembly for a Samsung M7S2. As on http://www.donordrives.com/blog/ described, the preamp-revision should match but this information isn't printed on the disk. If i want to buy a donor on auction-platforms (ebay e.g.) i want to ask the seller for this information.

Is there any free software that can read this information (sellers normally not have PC3K etc.)?

HyperTerminal, PuTTY...

I doubt very much you're going to find any ebay sellers (other than Donor Drives) willing to buy/ hook up a terminal connection and check this for you. You usually just have to match as closely as you can and hope for the best. Or, ask around on the data recovery forums to see if anyone has the one you need and is willing to sell it.

The demo version of SHT/SHTR should be able to read the ROM, MC modules, etc.
