I have one hard disk having 12gb bad sectors in beginning scanned with Victoria . If I erased the drive up to bad sectors with Victoria the remaining data is safe?
HDD 160gb
NO !!!
If you need the data image the drive and if possible use a hardware based sollution.
If your "bad sectors" are caused by damage to the platter you might end up killing the heads if you keep on reading/writting the bad spot and if the drive is getting that many bad blocks then there are no guarantees that the other part of the platter (containing data) will not get damaged as well very shortly ....
Also you might end up with damaged FW / drive that doesn't initialize if you end up with a G-List full of defects. Erasing with victoria will place all of those bad blocks on the G-List...
