Hi - I have just created a bootable CD to use to diagnose and repair EXTERNALLY CONNECTED Samsung brand HDDs. It's called Hutil210. It works. Booted this Windows 7 desktop using it. BUT ..... It boots to a Command Line interface. I don't know what to enter to tell the software to find and diagnose/repair a Samsung HDD connected EXTERNALLY via cables from the HDD to the motherboard of this HP desktop. Sure would appreciate someone proficient in Command Line to answer this post with the appropriate command text to: - Tell Hutil210 where to find the EXTERNALLY connected drive, NOTE: The internal HD of this HP is "C". The DVD drive is "D". - Run the diagnosis, - Quit. Thanks in advance. Patrick |

i'm not familiar with that Hutil210 you're talking about but from the description above I can assume it's A dos based software Patrick Dowling wrote: Samsung HDD connected EXTERNALLY via cables from the HDD to the motherboard of this HP desktop. USB ? if so then you've to install a driver for USB to be able to access the drive |

VTools 2.10 is a Samsung utility to work with HDD's connected to the second chanel . No USB support and maybe not SATA support either. The utility could be useful only for drives older then 15 years.... Good luck.... |
