I have the following drives on my HP Omen running Windows 10 64-bit OS:

SanDisk SD8SB8U-512G-1006 (512.11 GB) -- drive 0, s/n 163214420265, rev X4120006, SMART Status: Healthy
ST3000DM001-1ER166 [Hard drive] (3000.59 GB) -- drive 1, s/n Z50446PS, rev HP51, SMART Status: Healthy

I am repairing bad sectors on the smaller drive, C, and the larger drive, D, isn't far behind. I have a single image that includes both drives, which I took using Paragon 16.5 Advanced.

Replacement drives can be the same make and model, but if you dive into more specific specs, you won't see the same numbers.

What specs/numbers on the replacement drives I get must be the same as on the failing drives in order for my image to work well on the new drives?

As long as they new drives are the same size or larger, it will work to apply the cloned image onto them.

Thank you so much for your help and expertise here.

I searched for the specs of my C and D drives, respectively.

Here are some potential replacement drives for the C Drive: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=SanDisk+SD8SB8U-512G-1006+internal+hard+drive&ref=nb_sb_noss

Here are some potential replacement drives for the D Drive: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ST3000DM001-1ER166+3000.59+GB+internal+hard+drive&ref=nb_sb_noss

From among those with as much or more storage space as my current drives, which should have the same connectors and work, and which of those would you choose?

Thanks again!

The ST3000DM001 would be a bad choice. It was plagued with reliability problems and was the subject of a law suit. Backblaze recorded a 30% failure rate for this model.

Thank you, fzabkar; that drive is one of the two drives I am replacing with different drives. If you open the links, each one points to the options I found for replacing the given drive. I want to get a reliable hard drive to replace each one, drives that have as much or more storage space as my existing drives, and drives with connectors that are compatible with my PC. So, connectors should be the same as the ones on my current drives.

The PC is an HP Omen, HP 870-210se 1.04.

At one time Backblaze reported failure rates as high as 42%.

That's good to know, ddrecovery. I won't be using that drive once I make the swap.

Could anyone respond to my latest questions please?

Much appreciated! Thanks!

If you stay away from Seagate you will be good with pretty much any other option. Currently I recommend Toshiba for HDD and Samsung for SSD. However the most important thing to do once you get the drives is to set up a backup. Regardless of what drive you choose, remember they will all eventually fail.

Thank you, ddrecovery. I'll take that advice.

I would like to select an SSD for both drives.

C Drive is currently the 500 GB SanDisk SSD, SanDisk SD8SB8U-512G-1006 (512.11 GB) -- drive 0, s/n 163214420265, rev X4120006
D Drive is currently the 3 TB Seagate, ST3000DM001-1ER166 [Hard drive] (3000.59 GB) -- drive 1, s/n Z50446PS, rev HP51

For my own peace of mind, how do I determine what specification of connectors my PC has for each drive and that the Samsung SSD 3TB drive I get to replace each one meets the same specs so I can connect and install them?

Whoops! I just saw the price of SSDs in that size.

Here are some I have in mind.

How do I determine whether this one would connect in my PC to replace the current SSD?

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Int ... =pc&sr=1-1

How do I determine whether either or both of these would connect in my PC to replace the other HDD?

https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-MG04ACA4 ... =pc&sr=1-1

https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-MG03SCA4 ... =pc&sr=1-2

Both your old drives and the new drives all have SATA connectors. They will work with your system.
