Not even sure how to describe it. R-Studio Technician Licence, version from October 2019 whatever version number that is. Windows drives with Symlinks in Users folder to Documents and Settings Sym folder. Anyone else been having it doing weird things like you will select and unselect the real folder and it will still have the symbolic folder selected but not really showing properly in R-Studio tree. Had other issues with it just finishing a recovery saying its all done but its not really and hasn't saved most of the folders I have selected.

Not drive issues.

Symlink / hardlink "bug" was the reason I dropped using R-Studio Technician back in 2016
Techical support says its a "feature" I and many others call it a "bug"

It is one of the great features of R-Studio that makes UFS Explorer Professional even better.

Ah! I see this is a known thing. I had been using an old version of R-Studio for a while as I hadnt updated my support licence but did so a few months ago and ye, this new version is useless. I have UFS so I suppose I will just use than instead and say goodbye to all that money I spent on a buggy product. I can just turn symlinks off with it, you'd think they would stick that option into R-Studio!

What is the last r-studio version that hasn't this symlink bug?
What sw do you use to recover data from drives which have logical issue?

I like GetDataBack Pro :)

Can not remember what version was the last working one, but it was before October 2016. No need to look for that version, it will not cover all your needs any more.
Mainly i use DE, but for unsupported file system and encryption I changed to UFS Explorer, and it just works. Developers listen to feedback and many useful features are added with each new version.

I have to agree, I dumped R-Studio for UFS around 5 years ago for exactly this issue.

The developers refuse to listen to what their users want.

The main problem with this bug is that we actually cannot reproduce it. Every time they send us a file system R-Studio allegedly processes incorrectly, everything is working as Settings -> Symbolic links are set.
Can you help us to fix the problem with providing the file system that R-Studio processes incorrectly?
If yes, please go to Settings -> Main and select Debug Mode. Then, right-click the logical disk on the Device pane and select Create FS Snap Shot. Select Extended system snap shot files on the Save as type drop-down box, save the files, zip them, and send to us: raptorbck@gmail.com. If the resulting file appears too large, PM me an I'll provide you with an ftp place to upload the file.
Those files do not contain actual file content, only the info about the files and folders.
Thank you in advance.

When I select Users, it should just select Users...not the shortcut to Documents and Settings and Program Data. That would be a nice start.

I like using the old version of 2013 R-studio. Developers refuse to listen to what their users want.

Dear Amarbir, hardlink handeling had issues for years now, and still has.
In latest update March 24th, Alt(R_TT) stated "And we're working hard to solve the hardlink issue."
The reason I and many others I know stopped using R-Studio.

Recent versions, numbered directories are cluttered, no more intact paths. I have not used the version 2020 yet
