Post subject:  Need help recover data from raw disk

Hi guys
Need help with data recovery of an external ssd harddrive.
Windows hung so I pulled the harddrive out. Unsafe. Bad idea.
It is now in a raw "state". I dont think the cable is bad.

Chkdsk gives: both copies of the boot information for this volume are corrupt
I ran quick check with testdisk: Found nothing. But also no errors.
Tried create disk image with disk drill. The process starts, but pretty soon runs very slow.
It errors out after 30 min. After that I tried data recovery. Also failed.
When failed I cannot see the disk in disk management anymore.

I did not format it.

Any ideas how to proceed? What more can I try?

Br

Your window of opportunity to recover this may have closed after you tortured it.

You can try imaging the device with hddsuperclone but if it's no longer seen or shows the correct capacity in the bios you're really past the DIY point.

If it's not being recognised correctly in the bios it doesn't matter what OS you're running.

Image the drive ? Try something like DMDE.
Recover the drive ? None that aren't the major DR commercial products.

Yes, I understand, but the tool you suggested is not for windows, therefore my question.
Reason for me to mention error when creating image was just to show you that the disk is not doing too well.

Yes, I would like to recover data from this drive.
Please suggest major DR commercial products that you believe can help me.

Yes, that should do it.

It’s around 10,000 euro though, making a professional recovery of a few hundred euro appear a bargain! :-)

You can run HDDSuperClone from a Live CD. Forget Windows tools.
