Guys
Can you pls. suggest any software for CCTV recoveries ?
I have tried HXD for DVR which shows files but it is not allowing previews , DVR examiner is out of question due to high price tag.
UFS for Video is another option but on UFS website price is not mentioned & I have not tried trial as UFS is generally very slow .
Which software you guys use , is there any alternate other than these three?
Thanks

We use the UFS MyCCTV. You can buy a one time use licence for about $120.

I have tried all 3 software mentioned above but not getting data (though all three shows folders & files)
I have requested trial version of UFS video recovery which UFS customer support suggested instead of mycctv recovery.
however my request for trial license is not answered by ufs.
Is there anything beyond these three? I can give remote access for hex search or can upload 15 GB of disk image (out of 4 TB) for analysis.
Anyone interested to check , pls. reply.
Thanks.

DVR systems are very simple to reverse engineer yourself. We usually write a script to get video files back. Which one is it?

Hi Zero Alpha
Thanks for replying , I am your youtube channel's subscriber.
This disk is initialized by another make dvr . Today I found original DVR was hikvision (0X01) .
Its great to know a simple script can recover data which 3 major commercial tools cannot.
Multichannel DVR generally have fragments of multiple channels into single stream.

We get a lot of cctv dvr systems in for recovery and you see a lot of unknown chinese file systems. We just reverse engineer them.

Yeah we have reverse engineered hikvision as its one of the more common systems. Not too difficult to reverse if your good with low level programming.

When we get these chinese cctv nvr / dvr systems in we reverse engineer the filesystems as they are very simple. We don't have time or money to turn them into public products. If you are desperate you can book a mail in job with us and we will solve it.

Don’t pay for HxDVR. We paid last month, got no license file, no replies to emails, and had to request a refund through PayPal. The software hasn’t been updated in a long time either.

Thanks for the update LostDataSa
None of the software I tested was successful , we will have to use different for each case.

My last correspondance with hxdvr support was in August and they helped get me back up and running after putting the software on a new system. The latest version of the software was updated in July.

That said, I did fire some questions off to them after their assistance and haven't heard back. So, I'd have to agree that their communication is a bit lacking. Of course, it could be that he is sick or has some other life event that is affecting his communication right now.

have a case where I tried UFS MyCCTV, but it didn’t return any results. When I scanned the HDD with HxDVR, I was able to recover all the videos successfully. Unfortunately, the developer is not responding to my emails, so I can’t get a license file to start the recovery.

Are there any other reliable alternatives besides HxDVR, UFS MyCCTV, and DVR Examiner?

That is so frustrating. I sent them an email with a reference to this thread.

Have you reached out to mycctv support?

After Initiating this thread I am jumping in .
My observation is no single software can do magic.
Wait for few months & you will get a brand new software from the house of Video recovery specialists .
Currently it is in development / testing phase
