I have a dedicated system that is running Windows 2000 on an Intel D815 motherboard (512MB RAM, the max the MB can take) that I am trying to find an easy to use software that
will allow me to image the hard disk to an external USB connected drive. The unit is a Tektronix TDS5054 500MHz Digital Storage Oscilloscope. I have sucessfully
used Marcrium Reflect in the past to back up instruments like this one but only if they are running XP SP3 or newer operating systems.

The TDS5054 is running SP3 of Windows 2000 and can not be upgraded to SP4 due to driver limitations. For the same reason the instrument sadly can not be upgraded to XP.

So I am wondering if it is possible to:

Run HDD Raw Copy on Win2K SP3 or

Create a bootable CD that can be used to back up the drive to a External USB drive?

And if so how do I do this?

Obviously I could (and have) imaged the drive by removing it from the instrument and use a separate PC to do the image but this is very time consuming as it takes a fair amount of work to tear the instrument down to pull and replace the drive.

I have tried all of the standard drive imaging software but have yet to find a copy that will run on Win2K or that in the case of a bootable CD that will boot and run
in 512MB.

It could be that Clonezilla will work but I would like something that runs in a Windows like GUI so that general users can easily navigate. I also tried Rescuezilla
but that will not fit on a standard CDROM format as these instruments come standard with a CDROM not a DVD ROM.

With the minimal system specs I'd try Puppy Linux or Tiny Linux, they are small so should be able to find a copy that will fit on a CD, then you can boot to the GUI and copy your files over.

Okay If I knew Linux it appears that I can use Woofy to build a new ISO using NoblePuppy32 that contains HDDRaw-Copy 1.1 portable but will that program run in Linux? I only find references to Windows concerning that program. Not having experience with a Linux system is certainly a handicap for me.

Alternately is there a old version of WindowsPE that will boot on a system with only 512MB of RAM that I could somehow include the HDDRaw-copy?
