I'm working in a managed environment and am trying to inventory PCs to see which ones have their HDD password set. Anyone know how to go about this? Thanks, kreapr |

You can use MHDD, it will tell you whether a drive is locked or not. |

I really need to be able to do it under the Windows OS. Do you know of any API's that would provide such detail? |

i have tried to lock a hdd with a password. the result? i couldn't access it until unlocked with mhdd. the bios detects it, the geometry is ok. it produses knocking sounds. you should hear them. if not, probably you don't have a locked hdd. so, i think no OS's needed. especially if you see windows logo your hdd is not locked |
