Hello, What software can you recommend for imaging drives for instances that both do and don't contain bad sectors? |

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have MT but after a certain number of errors (10 I think) it says stop and call their number for help and you can hit continue but after 10 more it does the same thing. If it would ever just copy all the way through without telling me to send the drive off to them it would be nice lol. |

An inexpensive solution with some similarity to media tools: http://diydatarecovery.nl/DiskPatch.htm Version 3 of disk patch just came out. DP does reverse cloning and much more. The maker of copyr.dma also makes a commercial version with more capabilities called hd duplicator. Freeware: pcinspector's clonemaxx works quite well, though the interface is bland http://www.pcinspector.de/clone-maxx/uk/welcome.htm Here some info about using cmaxx when your hdd has bad sectors: open cmaxx.scr and go to "sectorCount = 256", Change it to "sectorCount = 1".
