Can you recommend recovery software

I am trying to recover a few hundred MPEGS from a 500Gb Western Digital HDD (SATA) with (apparently unmapped) bad sectors.

I have tried 'Data Doctor FAT + NTFS' but it lingers over bad sectors too long - and I don't seem to be able to get it to accept the failure very quickly.

I dont think it matters to skip a few bad sectors in an MPEG, and would rather find recovery software that will skip over bad sectors (make the decision to skip) faster.

Thoughts?

You need to image the drive first, with some non-windows based s/w.

e.g. CopyR, Media Tools Pro.

Then work from the image.

Hope this helps?

OK - willdo.

After that, I simply reapply Data Doctor to the new image?

Any thoughts about how to repair the MPEGs (get them to work again)?
