Hi I have handful of Seagate ST94811A, all of which are showing in as Seagate s21. I suspect the user has uploaded the wrong firmware, each drive has the same problem and I'm struggling to find the firmware for this drivetype. If anyone could please let me have the ATA rom, and firmware modules including CERT code I would be very very grateful.

All drives have invalid cert code errors

Thanks
From Kelly

The drive config is NFS-08 if that helps, I suspect my client who advised me they just tried the drives in a caddy, actually used something to upload the wrong firmware, I'm guessing the ST94011A were used in error as these firmwares are more widely available.

I'm getting desperate, is there anyone out there with a full set of firmware including CERT, rom etc for the Seagate Momentus
Model ST94811A
PN 9Y1082 - 301
HDA PN 100314974
Config NFS - 08
FW 3.07
Date 04447
Site AMK
CSO 05224

or any ideas how I can get around this drive the CERT is not recognised on all the drives I have in this series :(
Someone out there must have the firmware or maybe a board you're willing to loan out or sell, right now. Is it correct for these drives to show as Neptune??
Please
Thanks
From Kelly

The product I'm using is HD Doctor for Seagate V1.40 if the ver makes a difference with these drives. I've tried loading the Cert before attempting backup too and that wont work either. I will try and speak with SalvationData see if they can help me.

All tied up :) I have uploaded the firmware to HDDGURU Files you can find them and the Rom under Non-PC-3000 firmwares / Seagate / Momentus

We have also emailed a copy to SalvationData too as their product was what we used to achieve the f/w backup NOTE this f/w is s22 not the s21 I had requested but it worked for the purpose we needed it for.

Don't forget to share your firmware too !!

Regards

I'm attempting to repair the same drive type using SalvationData's HD Doctor. I downloaded the firmware from their site but, being new at this, I don't know what the different files are for. There are a total of 10 .mod files. Any help?

I suggest you read this thread, and you will see that your request is explained:

diy-what-the-big-deal-t12671.html

If you have a problem with a disk, and want comments from other forum members, then you need to post full details in the "Hard Disk Drives: data recovery and repair" forum. You need to include the disk make & model (I guess Seagate ST94811A?), the symptoms of the problem you have, any noises from the disk drive when power is applied, and what has changed since the last time the disk worked OK (e.g. was it dropped, or covered in water, or ...), and you need to be prepared that perhaps you cannot solve the problem yourself.

SeaFlash.

Why are you asking this question, and which firmware are you looking for?

Does your drive have a problem?
