Does anyone know of a software that will go thru a list of excel files and only tell me the ones that are good? I recovered excel files from a deleted partition with r-studio and have about four thousand xls files. I don't need to repair the files, just need to know which ones are whole. Thanks.

You can generally get a good idea by viewing the folder listing in explorer, but adding additional fields, such as "Author" and so on.

Normally, those files that present with a valid Author name will be ok.

Trouble is, the rest could be either way....

Thanks. I forgot about that. Most of the ones with an author were the ones I needed. Saved me lots of time.
