You can fix it, upgrade the bios.

The PCB on my SSD is burnt by a power surge.
I need the data. Can I simply replace it from the same model, or do I have to match the firmware revision?

If you have a matching FW, you should try hotswap!

One True Story of HD

One day, a pretty woman could not find her mirror, so she opened one HD, exactly speaking, a 80Gb HD instead of a 40Gb because she thought the platter of 80Gb was twice larger than the 40Gb's. She removed the platter outside from the enclousure and looked at it, her makeup was still in good order.

She felt better and happy.

Suddently, she remembered that she forgot signing her name on one Important Business Plan (.doc). So she took her pen and wrote her name on the platter.

After she putting the platter back to the enclosure. The drive worked perfectly and she could see her signautre on that Bussiness Plan.

It was a true story.
