For those who ask alot about knoking hdd

June 5th, 2011, 7:02

Dear newbies

Based on the facts that i got to know and many testing/experiment i got to know that each knocking sound from diff. hdd`s (i.e. WD, seagate...) has its own symptoms

my suggestion for you guys is the following TOOL, i use it alot for quick diagnose

just as a hint, get your self few hundreds of WORKING hdd (wd, seagate....)
power ON and listen (Stick n Save the process in ur memory)

Compare it later with working once in ur Brain

with proper tools you can fix it, later on you may judge the problem and fix it easily

this is how i do?

it might be Funny but Works for me.

thank you

S#it ! I though I was the only one who did it!, I have mine next to me, I also have a home-made contact microphone to record the noise it does and listen it more carefully. :)

the really great thing is the face of your clients when you use it right? LOL
