Hi

Today I was browsing Ebay and found this item:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lot-of-7-2TB- ... 27dd3d7e21

After I run the serial numbers on WD website, the drives are 320GB ehehehe

He must bought that on the chinese place.

They could have at least made a label that fits the drive cover! At least the serial numbers are not just all the same. 4/10 for effort.

From the PN at the PCB 6 of them are HTS542516K9SA00 Hitachi drives, not quite the 2TB stated

Did you report it to E-Bay? How can this seller have such high review numbers? Actually, it looks like the seller might have been the one who got scammed...hard to day. I'm curious to know what he has to say about it.

PCB #100349359 belongs to a Seagate Momentus 5400.2.

ST9120821AS
ST9100824AS
ST98823AS
ST96812AS
ST94813AS
ST93811AS

The actual capacity could be anything from 30GB to 120GB.

BTW, WD have said they will look into it.

I contacted the seller and he said that he bought them on Ebay and was flipping them, but thought things were strange. After further exploration, he has confirmed that they are fakes and that explains why none of the 2TB drives detected on his system. So, he is going back to EBay about the original seller.
