Different look of WD inernal drives

I didn't know where to place this topic. so to avoid argument with the mod on maybe a less critical topic I'll just place it here.

I generally find Western digital sells for the same type of drive. For instance WDnnEZRZ slightly different designs. See picture. Could you tell beforehand which type ypu're gonna receive as a customer?
Is A for instance sold in yhe ISA and B in Europe?

I think that type A is made in Malaysia and B in Thailand. Though googling I f?ound that Thailand also makes type A. shell for some models. Resellers are never accurate about what they have in stock. And calling them is a bit of a hassle.

The suffix is different. This means they belong to different families, Apollo versus Giant. They have 6 and 8 heads, respectively, so the 6-head model would appear to be more recent.

Probably.

Note that "00GXCB0" would be the retail version, whereas "22GXCB0" would be an OEM version. "GXC" is the family code.

22 = customer ID (00 = generic)
GXC = family identifier
B0 = customer configuration code
