 Post subject: Generic controller board

Is there such a thing as a generic controller board,in which you can upload firmware ,so that the drive can be accessed again ?
This would make it easier to find a donor controller board to test stuff.
(I know some brands like WD do store SA information on chips on the controller board ,but some don't. And maybe there's a way to get this info from the broken board ,and transfer to this generic one ?)

No, there is no such a thing as universal board that will be able to fit different types of drives.
