DEAR FRIENDS,
I have a 120 GB Seagate laptop HD.Which when connected to PC is getting detected but when it goes in WIndows it takes lot of time to start OS and after starting ,in New device found(message which comes when we connect any removable device)comes and everything gets hung, nothing works.I tried to analyze it using easy recovery,PhotoRec some DOS based utilities but nothing works.Converter used to connect is neat.what may be the reason? No harsh sound comes from the HD.

Expecting fruitful replies from all U DR experts.

Ravi

This problem is likely to be bad sectors on the hard drive. This can cause the system to lock up as it repeatedly tries to access the unreadable sectors. There are other potential problems that could cause similar symptoms but without the drive being physically present the best that we can do is guess.
