Well, it worked, but I had 2 pinclite drives that had consecutive serials. I presume it usually doesn't. I agree, overwriting adaptive data is pretty much always a bad idea, but not being able to read or edit it, I didn't really have much in the way of options. If you have a better idea, please let me know, I always try to at least learn something from the one's I can't do.
