"Greed is good" is why we are all in this economic mess. Maybe use that quote as a headline to your website? ;o)

That qoute is a tribute to the movie wallstreet from 1987, my favourite one. I am anything but greedy.

Wallstreet, I'm curious. What type of recovery operation are you going to run with no tools, no DR experience, no marketing experience, and outsourcing?

I have DR experience but not when on the same level as the companies dominating the market. Second I have the tools but its all software based. Third I have marketing experience but Im always looking for more knowledge so by asking such a stupid q which might look radicilous you really get (most of the times) information broken down to you and often more of it as well. Its called social engineering.

The experience is one of the reasons why these companies are so dominant. Another is that they are not limited to software tools...

If you want my advice here, forget about Ads, just build a simple Website, write what you are capable of doing/fixing
and since your market is small, have a look @ others who do/offer the same services you offer, get into the Middle of them, and just wait, for my experience here Small Country + High Incom. + Alot of DR to do
its just the matter of time till people KNOW you and how good/Pro. you are and trust me clients always prefer to talk to someone who understands what they wanted/know

If you are highly skilled, and you see a stupid client with stupid long story to explain (the problem DR. or whatever) just listen to them, people like us to listen first, and slowly you will have a good Database of Clients who RELY on you and what you are doing.

and when your Biz. grows, think about expanding when you really feel that you need to go higher. but @ 1st. just focus on what you have and can do.

when you make alot of $$$$$ and u think few thousands are not important for Ads. then go ahead and do Ads.
which i never did actually.

you are building your name, nothing more nothing less.

Google Ads do work. Just out of curiosity i did not top up for a month and it was silent. I put my normal amount in and put a good ad bid. And low and behold.. People started calling and i made that money back in 1/4 job :D

You can call google campaign and they can put you on all other search engines too.. but be prepared to start at a few hundred euro... it will return it self if you manage to fix the stuff.

Like Einstein9 said. listen to the customer- explain what you going todo do briefly and people will out of joy will open the wallets to you (if you fix it-- other wise get ready for some foul mouth.. oops )

I find that when i advertise with Google Adwords i get a lot more phone calls, but not many new customers. I think a lot of people just click on the top 3-5 ads and call or email to just 'shop around' and 'compare prices' when they see you on Google Adwords. When people find my web site and actually read it - they come in.

But i think if you want more work, you need the exposure and it will bring you more customers. If your business model is well thought out, you will make your money back from the advertising and profit from the repeat customers and referral if you keep that new customer happy.

I find that advertising in computer magazines is great for word of mouth with IT helpdesk/computer support companies.

The more you spend, the more you will make. But you need to have a good business and customer service to benifit or it can backfire and you can get so many customers that you are not used to, you can make mistakes and provide bad service and that's of course, very bad!

Good luck.
