Hello, has anyone used the software WDR-UDMA?

here is the manual: http://www.drivestar.biz/files/WDR-UDMA_Manual.pdf
and here you can download the demo version: http://forum.chinahdd.cn/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12#p13

when my bosses told me that they bought WDR, I just laughed silently and told them that if this software does what it say... it's The Holy Grial of Western Digital hard disk drives repair.

What do you think?

- excuse my english - this is my first post. i have worked with PC-3000 over the last 3 years, that's the reason why i think that.

Thanks in advance

This is the chinese TREX copy that someone found a while ago. I don't really see anything it claims to do that isn't possible in UDMA.

I thought that these things like write Firmware and Rom, clear SMART and PList, you can only do it with the help of hardware, like PC-3000, and any software without hardware would be useless. but it seems that i was wrong, anyway, I will test this software soon and figure out by myself.
Thanks for the reply.

I thought that without special hardware equipment (like PC-3000), write Firmware and ROM, clean SMART and PList and a lot of things were impossible, guess i was wrong, seems like UDMA is the key... anyway, thank you for your reply.

Yes, they say it operates directly on the bottom of hdd system... like i thought, is software and hardware... and this is the Packing List:
1. PC line 1pcs (PATA, SATA)
2. Dongle 1pcs
3. Software DVD 1pcs

when they say PC line, mean a PCI board like PC-3000? or a motherboard? isn't very clear... and there is no photo of it...

thanks for the reply

Ei tkach, how was your adventure with the WDR-UDMA? It would be interesting to know your opinion after you tried it.

Hello world.

Hello world.

Well, the first time i used WDR-UDMA, it surprised me, i didn't expect too much, but it really exceeded my expectations...
You can load and repair firmware, change number of heads, clear smart, G and P list... about the "super format" function takes a long, but if the drive has sectors, these are relocated.
Another function that works fine is change model and serial number.
I hope that this information will be enought, any comments or suggestions are welcome.
Best regards

Then I suppose that it works on windows only to take advantage of the windows API for the presentation layer, I mean to provide the software with a graphical interface, windows, buttons, dialogs, mouse & keyboard control etc, but I suppose that it will "attack" to the hard disks directly to the controller instead of use the BIOS and windows API.

Do you know if I'm correct? Because if I don't believe no this piece of software.

Well, i could not tell you, im not sure... but think that works directly because you can work in a drive that windows has no recognized
