on returning home after xmas my car was scratched from side to bonnet i finally caught the culprit on cctv .in our panic my daughter and i must have pressed wrong buttons,as we could no longer get back to the time of the offence. it happened at 00.14 on 30th december. we can now only view until oo.37 on 30th dec. i know for certain at one time we pressed back-up and play...without removing anything. we also pressed re-write,and then cancelled that. is there any way we can retrieve this footage??? i know it is someone in the same street as me as 4 cars got done on the same night and the culprit had to be walking home. i finally called police 2 days ago hoping they could find a way to get info back. they have said its been deleted and cannot be salvaged. please please is there someone out there who can help me retrieve the footage,so i can see who this evil person is,before i have to pay repairs, and probably suffer again.
i live in tottenham,north london :( :( :(

i'm sorry but as far as i know, most of the equipment of this type just overwrite the footage. If your equipment belongs to this category, then there is simply nothing one can do.

If i were you, i would ask manufacturer of your cctv equipment as to how the capturing works. If it overwrites, then forget it. If not, then there is hope.
