Le plus simple, vire le disque mort, achete un disque ou tu veux et touche plus à rien ....

If you mean other Maxtor DM9/xx like 6x080, please tell us (and Maxtor, now Seagate) where the eeprom is.

Buy a tool like PC3000 (many thousand EUR) or but a much simpler tool like SD for Maxtor (500 EUR) and you'll fix it for sure. Maybe you'll have hard times if you want DATA back, but you can refurb it for re-use if you haven't screwed it totally.
What was a simple cold is now a bad pneumonia, you have overwritten (with other) or corrupted the FW so now the disk is behaving that way (I don't want neither I am allowed to give you other technical details that also you won't understand).

let people give a little solutuions come here instead of dirtying the forum with your ideas that I'm not a girl, when you want to chat with a camera msn and I'll show you that I am really a female?

let me tell you something my lad, I am registered in nearly 20 forums help, and I'm still a girl, I'm even part of a trusted tracker French for 6 years and all knows me even the staff I am also registered on a help forum opel car and I repair my car alone as like a boss, then two things it will be downright crazy here is to help and not a dating site.

I think Iam talking to European and not American, tell me what is the easiest way to put a child in the world or repair a hard drive?

a girl can do anything if you leave him the choice and time, she can even put you KO with her regars and charm, maybe ca not effect you may be you do not like the opposite sex.

the eeprom of the xbox console is in the motherboard console you need a cd live linux to unlock the HDD of the original xbox and save the eeprom after you take any other HDD and LOCK IT with the pass or the key of the eeprom after the new hdd can be used now in your xbox ( xbox 1 and not talking about the xbox 360) yes i know i read forum and take a time to read and ask .
yes Iam a girl from france mother from new zeland, father italian and we live in FRANCE juste an little town near suisse .

At some point Ann was a newbie, asking for help with things she did not understand.

Personally, gender has nothing to do with it. I know a handful of DR engineers who are female.

@ lorie

It seems that despite your eagerness to do well, somewhere along the way your Maxtor HDD has developed something more than a ATA password related issue. If you need it online, you really should consult a professional. If not, simply trash it and try again :)

From what you wrote it was something different. Anyway, to end this drama - or better, this comedy, you have ROYALLY SCREWED your disk and there's nothing YOU can do, as you CANNOT go beyond a certain limit with the help of your "opel forum" if the problem on your "opel" car is on certain areas (unless of course some AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER lets you use THEIR equipment. And I know what I am talking about. Luckily (for us) and unluckily (for you) HDDs are not an oil filter or a spark plug, they are more similar to ECUs. So should we be impressed ? The vast majority of us, except seeing Aurora Borealis in the shower at morning, have seen almost everything.

An used drive from Ebay in good condition should be 20-30 EUR. Accept the "loss" and carry on, and next time don't explore unknown lands (simply because , as you can see , it is difficult to get out from troubles !).

P.S. assuming you find a WORKING firmware from a similar drive , assuming someone borrows you /let you access a REAL tool (don't come here asking how PC3000 or SD work...) - and it is quite impossible especially for the PC3000, your drive won't come back to life. You said you want to do some experiments ? Welcome. You'll be surprised about the outcome.

P.P.S. the more you ask for information, especially with this attitude, the less you will get. Mostly because you can impersonate whoever you want from behind a keyboard, and unluckily because it's our bread and butter. This is the wrongest place where to do so. Better luck on other forums, maybe ?

From a male point of view, and according to what we see usually on drives coming in for recovery, both things may have a common "point of connection" Alas, it is not so easy. It's not always Sunday.

Some humour sometimes helps, anyway.
