I'm having a big issues cleaning a platter on a hitachi drive, I had tried 99.9% isopropyl alcohol but for some reason it's leaving residue on the platter, the drive was open by the costumer and left finger prints and I don't want to kill my parts heads, I used a 3M cleaner in the past but I can't remember what it's call, any suggestions. Thank you in advance

IMO, Novek is a waste of time and damn expensive.

IPA is probably the best and safest. I've tried Novec on a number of test cases and some seriously badly damaged drives with poor results. Although I wouldn't recommend it for others and most people think I'm crazy, but we have used Fluxclene on certain cases with good results. Usually in conjunction with ultrasonic cleaning.

I use a lot of different solutions - depending on contamination and media. I would recommend checking.

IPA is working well many times, but for some media it is not usable/safe at all. Always check before use.
