labtech: thank you. I dont consider learning anything a waste of time. Ive recovered data on another Seagate using terminal however that was a little more straight forward with regards to getting prompt. I was looking to get direction on shorting the read channel since i didn't want to short the wrong pins and do damage like you said. I can always google how to short the read channel however it would probably bring me to a place similar to this which is how i ended up here int he first place LOL.

Never the less labtech I appreciate your willingness to put up with my persistence. And for the record i never said njor thought it would be a quick/easy fix. And i also understand specialized equipment may be required, im considering purchasing it anyway.

I will post output shortly (no pun intended haha)

Terminal is giving me a constant stream of the following:

Having hard time to find diagram. The image is not available.

This may be a stupid question But would a PC 3000 help me in the sense that I would not have to short the read channels. Does a PC3000 make this process any different than if i have a terminal program on a PC and connect with A virt serial port? I get alot of hdd for recovery it would be worth the investment to me.

Thanks

Could manage to get the terminal access
But it does not stop and continuously keeps giving same message.
If you open the short at read channel the it gives LED CC error

Still, likely firmware issue, bad sectors, maybe weak head... Not much can be done without proper expertise and equipment.

Best wishes
