I think you got it all wrong
we are talking here about a disk who fell
so, most likely you'll have to replace the HSA, which I find it hard to believe that you gonna pull it off
not to mention the tools and knowledge you'll need before AND after replacing the HSA
and even if a miracle is gonna happen against all odds - which i find it very hard to believe - and you'll get to a stage that it's gonna recognize in BIOS, it will not last that long to be able to take out your data.
and if the miracle will - for some reason - continue, it will die much faster than you think.
and if the miracle will continue, then go buy a lottery ticket

@revis, when you had the cover off, did you try rotating the platters by hand? (I hope you didn't touch the platters.)
