Every week -- almost without fail - we receive hard drives that have been opened by their owners; a friend, or a "repair person." It's a really bad idea that places your data at risk. I explain why (with photos):

Almost everyday I receive an opened drive.
Opened by customer, by IT, by cowboy guy, by customer's neighbor....etc.

Nice article Jon. I've been meaning to do a similar article on my site too, this will motivate me to actually do it.

I can send you the article in .docx format and you can customize it if you like with your own co. info.

We need to get the word out. :-)

Absolutely we do, the problem I find is that by the time people read such an article they've already been down the Youtube DIY road and stripped the T6s with a Philips and covered the top platter with yesterday's breakfast.

I've got a small list of little articles already (https://www.southbit.co.za/real-world-d ... -examples/) so next is a 'do not open' one. Thanks for the offer, but I quite like writing stuff like that when I find the time. It's like telling off naughty schoolkids.
