Anyone out there able to reconstruct what seems to be a damaged NWFS volume?

hm, i thought these can only be found under several hundred meters of limestone sediments...
i recall i had to run novell and mount the image up in it, then copy the data out through the network. I still have a VM somewhere...

Probably with your wordstar disks and your spare box of bnc's.

I found them (DR DOS, Novell, OpenDOS). I tried to email them, but they were rejected by Luke's AV filter.

I received them after I manually permitted the email with the attachments through. However, a working copy of Novell or any program that only works with healthy file systems don't appear to be of much help. This is pretty much a case of a corrupt file system.

I think I might be having better luck when moving my destriped clone to an older Windows 7 system. Time will tell.

The software I've provided is Netware Lite, which is peer to peer. I thought it may have been able to handle NWFS, but I'm probably wrong.

There used to be a way to mount an NWFS volume in Linux, but Novell killed it with litigation.

Very very old version of UFS (old design) 3 or 5 version was with support Novell OS .
Try that and check somewhere on change logs. Recent version doesn't support it.

I tried 3.14, 3.19 & 5.20, none of which seem to have any VMFS options. Current version of UFS has NWFS support, but only for perfectly healthy file systems. Though, there appears to be an issue that existed back at version 5 and still exists now where UFS is pointing to the wrong start sector for the NWFS partition. While other programs like R-Studio and WinHex don't have NWFS support, they correctly interpret the partition start. Unfortunately, due to current circumstances in Ukraine, this falls as a low priority with the UFS team at the moment...which makes perfect sense.

@lcoughey
Novell NetWare disks helps you? v2.xxx

or UnixWare disks as well

I fail to see where they have any mention of Netware file system support.

This is not my area of expertise but might this be of any use at all?

There used to be some tools out there for pulling data from Novell volumes.. can't remember the name off hand. I think you might be able to use a running Novell server and do a vrepair on the volume and possibly mount it.

Oh yeah, I saw something called "Captain Nemo" I think that has NWFS capabilities? I thought about trying it, I have a few old Netware drives around I could test.
