Help Restoring PNY CS900 SSD

February 22nd, 2023, 18:41

I have a PNY CS900 SSD that somehow became afflicted with the "SATA FIRM S11" error. Trying to recover it, I followed a YT tutorial and long story short, the drive lost its ID information. I contacted PNY regarding the issue and while they refused to assist me in the data recovery attempt, they did send me a new drive (my drive was still under warranty). The drive they sent me was the exact same drive that messed up on me, so I was wondering if there is any way to restore that ID information using the new drive that was sent to me. I have data on the afflicted drive that I hadn't gotten around to backing up that I would really like to regain.

Because of this, I have come to you guys; the HDD Gurus. I am not savvy when it comes to data recovery, but I am a proficient PC user. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. With hat in hand, I look forward to any and all feedback regarding the matter. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Controller problems. Should be the standard PS3111 and any lab with PC3000 ssd should be able to recover it for you but it's not something you're going to fix yourself.

Sorry for such a late response but thank you for the information. I live in a very isolated rural town pretty far away from any urban/commercial areas, so finding anyone around or near me who has that hardware would be impossible. Still, thanks for the replies.

...and there are no postal services available in your area too?
You can simply ship your drive to a data recovery lab.
