Hello everyone. Having alot of fun with the newest version of the MHDD program. Has been working very well without any problems thus far.

I am curious if anyone has heard about the Data Recovery Training from Unistal. I have been looking at this for months now, very interested. Is anyone here familiar with these courses or their software?

http://***.unistal.co.in/ (Not sure if I can post links, so I used * in place of www)

They are asking $500 USD for the course and I am really thinking about giving it a try, but am asking around for opinions first.

Thanks for the feedback.

James

Sounds good but you can found more an not so expensive in books, internet,(a ver useful web pages where found concpets about file system, detailled explained and more ) and of course practice. data recovery its not only software or hardware its investigation and experience with your own experience.

I'm also wondering if anyone knows of hardware training? I'd like to go to a class and learn how to repair drives. Being a storage guy, I understand most of the logical problems. But, understanding and fixing the physical problems is a lot more difficult.

Well, I already have that expensive piece of hardware. I can diagnose drives, I just need to learn how to repair physical failures.

hi,
i went through this site.

The course contents are :

Course Overview:
• Data Types, Importance and Why we must Value it?
• Data loss, Facts, Causes and conditions
• Data Storage Media – Hard Disk
• FAT, NTFS, Ext2FS, Ext3FS, Novell FS details
• Data recovery methods and case studies
• How physical data recovery is done
• Possible Solutions to prevent data loss
• Do's and Don'ts for an effective data recovery
• When is it not possible to recover data?
• The problem on OS corruption

its really hard to believe that they will teach anything about repairing physically failed drives.

Its better to ask them first that what are the contents of "How physical data recovery is done" ? May be they will just say that you will need to replace the faulty parts. I don't think and don't believe that anyone will teach you the parts compatibility and many other things.

AFAIK and believe that you can learn it only after lots of practise.

PS : I think its better to read the russian pages using worldlingo if you don't know russian.

regards
