I thought that's obvious - put them into proven good drive

The heads are ok because i have swapped over and it has the same problem. ROM also OK tested. The only thing that i am curious and unable to test is the SA. anyone know how solve this issues?

When i connect the drive to usb the drive detected correctly but unable to explorer data, tris WINHEX and this is the message i get.

"Cannot read from Sector 0 of ST350032.... The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"

Sector 0.... ??? I thought is has bad sectors, so i tried cloning it but failed. DDI failed to clone, DE failed.

Thank you guys for any feedback.

Since this is a new technology from Seagate implementing to 72.11
and not much information about this drive specially its SA information..

We need to learn harder

you guys are right it is firmware corruption, especially these models:
It started with problem with cache and manifested into undetected or detected but unable to access data.

1000 GB, ST31000340AS
750 GB, ST3750330AS
500 GB, 3500320AS

As you can see, the drive is apparently seen as 0 capacity. This appears to be another instance of a translator module problem which seems to be common in this model drive. Check out the other post which deals with this issue.

Well, it seems I made an erroneous call on this one. The problem is that this drive does not conform to previous Seagate commands so it may be trial and error for awhile before these command responses can be interpreted accurately. Thanks for calling it to my attention.
