 Post subject: Customers/PC Experts....... How thick are they?

I think this thread we should reserve for stories of stupidity.

Today I recieved a 1 TB SEAGATE which had been dropped. The owner gave it to a IT Expert to look at. It's really a shame he went a bit further than looking.

The drive was hand delivered with a nice sandwich bag containing HDA, Magnet, Screws, Stopper, Filter etc. At least they left the filter out so I could wash it :lol:

I though I better have a look at the disk before I quote a four figure sum, the heads have been removed off the platters but hda is still screwed in. Heads are bent and twisted as if they have undergone some life saving CPR. Platters are full of finger marks, scratches, dust, semen (just kidding). Two screws are missing from the spindle (spindle motor is seized by the way) indicating the expert (fool) has probably taken out the platters one by one.

At least the PCB is still connected. :lol:

Why do they do this? :roll:
