Hi,

I got this drive today and it spins and get into ready but it will not go any futher... (BIOS won't detect it, too)
SD won't detect it either.... I'm trying to load it from the file, but I'm having problems with the firebird. I might have to contact the SD on Monday.

Mean while, any one has any suggessions????

Do you have .res file for this model ? If so, disable Firebird database (uncheck the option), load .res file manually

Uncheck the option (v) on the main screen Hitachi Doctor Panel, you don't have to uninstall Firebird

SD is working now, and I can put it in the safe mode and SA-C, but "Read RSVD Module Error" and so on to all of the modules...

I tried to copy from SA-C, and the result is the same... Can't copy anything. Do I have a bad NVRAM????

The PCB will go ready still...

Unlikely. Are you sure PCB is native ?

If you can't access SA-C problem mostly caused by bad head(s). To make sure this is the problem, try to view NVRAM content (click on "NVRAM edit") after you manage to read it, but don't change anything. If it;s readable, the problem is not the NVRAM. Something else is wrong

when I removed the PCB there were some dusts and may be a dog hair... Looks like some other compnay checked the PCB before. The drive is marked and the PCB is marked with a permanent marker as I usually do on the bad drive...

Oh well, if it's native, time to check head(s). Put the drive back to normal SA-A mode first.

Now, the FW Scan shows some errors in the SA-A. (Over 20 of them are showing no errors)
It's getting a bit better than the start!!!

I have a few beginning modules and the ending modules that are not able to back up in the SA-C... (6 Unreadable/unable to back up Modules)

I'm afraid to see the head damage or SA damages when I open the case....

Can anyone think of anything else???

Here is the SA-C Back Up Screen

I noticed SA-A Back Up Screen has 20 more Modules than SA-C...
