Does anybody have the datasheet of Marvell 88i6745 ? There is no chance to find a way how to rewrite internal flash without it. If you have it, let me know, we have the necessary device to access the IC.

If you have the necessary device to access the IC why need a datasheet ?

Because you need to know how to connect the IC to the programmer. Do you have the datasheet?

Sorry to say this but you are light years away with this theory. Anyway at present with PC3000 udma something is possible. For the rest...

Well, why do you think? There is no way to use PC3K to rewrite the internal flash of 88i6745 if the board is not responding over SATA (i.e. if you write incompatible ROM).
You need to connect to the 88i6745 directly. All we need is the datasheet.

What was your reason to reply to my post? Just criticise? Why don't you tell us your way to rewrite the internal flash if you are so smart?

This datasheet is hard to find because it wasn't available for public downloads.

What did I say? Not so clear as Doomer said but this was the meaning. No need for datasheet or connect externally and yes it is possible.

So Mr.BlackST can you confirm you are able to do the following?
Rewrite the ROM on Marvell 88i6745 board in the case the board is not responding (i.e. if incompatible ROM was written).
I am not talking about the case when you can write the ROM via SATA using PC3K.

I have to see the board and then decide what to do. If you do some research you'll find a way at least to get what you need to make a workaround / possible start point. Enough said. No I won't share. Period.

Well it was misunderstanding. I know how to recover the data from the drive when the board is not responding and i cannot read the native ROM.
I need to find a way how to make the board working again after incompatible ROM was written. Which means to find a way how to rewrite the internal flash of 88i6745 when the board is not responding.
I suppose you cannot make it, right?

You can work it out. Some 'MCGYVERING' maybe needed.

Whole topic is about it. Not about what you were talking about. Read it once again. If you cannot help us with this just don't reply. All your posts was about nothing.

You have received more than one hint. If you pretend a solution that is worth thousand $ of jobs to do on open forum (if it was PM it was the same) it is not possible. I give 2 more clues and I give up with this thread:
1) at 1st time during production the embedded ROM is clean.
2) if you can't enter from the main door because the key is broken in, maybe there is an open window.
More than this, sorry, it is impossible at least for me.

Clear enough to me.
These are hints with a hammer :)

Are we talking about the same thing? Making the board work again after incompatible Rom was written there? I am not talking about accesing the drive with that dead board.

Probable that to write new rom to MCU you will need use the ATA command for firmware upgrade with a specialy crafted loader code (like a mini application)and image.. Much like HGST drives

I am sure 99% that it is possible. However, the original factory code and ROM for the first part of the process (S4W) is re-written... which is why I say it is 99% possible ;o)

But I don't know how to do it because I do not need it at this moment in my very busy life

Just adding to that.. The drive will need to be in a condition to accept ATA commands
