It can be possible to guide you through the recovery.

First of all buy a PC3000 card & software and report back when you have done this. (Approx $10,000)

This is the tool you'll need to reprogram a a donot PCb to suit your drive.

I really do not think that every hard disk failure issue wants a $10,000 machine to be fixed. Some can be fixed with $0 actually,
by removing TVS and making a short. That will cost around >$1000 here in Greece that I live. So, you can short TVS's.. you are making profit.
I am not talking about sterilized rooms and get in hands with platters and mechanical problems that need extremely trained and experienced technicians.. I have been using microprocessors, mcu's, eeprom's and avr's for a long time now, and I know how this thing does work. I can feel the technicians that keep their secrets locked up in a closet, but....

I am in a especially difficult position because of my ignorance that (almost) killed this hard disk. Also I feel extremely idiot that I trusted a recovery company (with a great reputation here) to change a TVS and now I must pay the cost of the changes they made. Finally mistakes are being paid (I killed my friend's hard drive) and bigger mistakes are being paid multiplied (trusting some bastards..).

I can supply you with pictures and stuff, If anyone wants to help and of course I can pay anyone that will get me out of this chaos..

Thanks for the replies...

"pcimage" what is the biggest amount of money you'll need to recover my data for not a mechanical problem?

I suppose not every hard disk problem will require a $10,000 equipment to me resolved...
In case of a TVS burned actually you'll need $0 to make a short and get your data.

Because I pay for being idiot twice, now I must pay not for the hard disk's problem but for the data recovery company's "tricks" and for connecting a laptop adaptor to the hard disk case...

Well In Greece that I live, you will need >$1200 for the DR company to make a short !!
And being even the biggest DR company in a place, you can't say "We need to know what kind of data you had on the drive because we will use special hardware(!!) for every file format!!!"...
