My hard drive stopped working a month ago, and I finally get the hyperterminal working, but after first two command:
F3 t>/2
F3 t>z
it shows following and I can not move any further,

LED:000000CC FAddr:00259E1D

I have tried to seach on the web for the code but seems nobody ever had the same code before.

Any one out there could help ??

Thanks

There is something wrong with that terminal input and response.

If you want your data, I advise you to stop what your are doing and consult a pro, before you brick the drive.

If you don't care for the data, then carry on playing by all means.

See the following technical bulletin:

Seagate were at one time offering free data recovery services to those customers whose drives were affected by the bug. This may still be the case.

I may be wrong - I think that the free recovery was for hard disks that got bricked when the firmware update was applied to certain drives - I think it was only the 500 Gb version of 7200.11 that the firmware update actually made worse.. So seagate offered free data recovery on these drives - is that right Doomer ?

Yes, you are wrong. :-)

Free recovery also applied to drives bricked by the original bug, not just the buggy bugfix.

The policy is well documented in Seagate's forums and/or knowledge base.

AFAIK, the free recovery doesn't apply to OEM drives, which I believe make up 90%+ of the affected drives out there.
