i have a plan to go to china/chengdu in the month of SEP 26-29, to attend to the training from SD, and will buy SD doctor wd/max/sea,

all of u SD USERs, satisfied with SD doctor ???

if any advice from experts, please.

As you might have read, that SD requests special fees if you want
to sell your equipment again within the warranty time. That nearly
makes it impossible to resell it without a big loss.

Suggest to clear that matter before you buy.

In Europe (EU) its law that the warranty is bound to the product.

Its us, the customers, to force the producers to behave correctly.

I dont see any purpose to differentiate whether its a direct
customer or one who baught the product second hand, the
date of purchase is in SD data base

I could understand a small fee for transferring (online) service
to the new customer. Its clear that SD dont want to start any
explaination a second time for free....

only problem i have is the manuals, for example i spent like 3 days on a seagate setup, only to find out the com terminal adaptor had to have the Hard Drive Upside down. PCB facing up, all i got from tech support was " look at manual for proper setup" the picture in the manual was drive right side up..... also i needed to unlock a hitachi drive... the manual looked too simple to for the procedure. but ... it work ...go figure.. for the price of firmware tools. i think its fair. but you have to do a lot of "read between the lines" but i like them.....now the DDI....get that like if they are running out.

There is more to data recovery than buying tools. Going cheap on the tools certainly won't help either.

I own the 4 HD Doctors that you want to purchase. The HD Doctor tools are ok for the price, but the manuals are poorly translated from Chinese. After you purchase the HD Doctors and try to follow the manuals written by Salvation Data, you will see what I mean. There is no clear distinction for some functions what is safe for data recovery and what functions are for refurbishing drives only. One wrong click and say good bye to your customers data. I highly recommend purchasing other manuals for the HD Doctors. Falther is also correct about the large transfer fee that Salvation Data will charge if you want to resell any other their data recovery tools. You need to be very sure that you want them because you will take a big loss when you try to resell them.

Forum member "poehere" has written excellent manuals for SD tools.

I suggest you contact her for purchase details (yes you have to pay, she does not work for free)
