:D Hello everybody, I would like to ask for help to fix my toshiba hd mk1246gsx, I need to update the firmware or reset it, so it can be recognized by windows.
I have two programs that can update the firmware but I have the firmware, but I accept the suggestion of new programs. Thank you in advance for your attention. :D

Who told you that you need to update the firmware for this situation, or was that your own guess?

It may help you to read these 2 examples of threads from the FAQ section, for you to see why "updating" the firmware by users, is rarely a fix for problems after they have occurred:

That did not translate well into English, unfortunately. :( I think that somewhere in your description, the word "not" may be missing. It is not clear whether you do, or do not, have firmware which you want to download to the drive.

I think there may be some assumptions which you have made, before asking your question above. You might get more advice, if you start at the beginning of your story - what exactly happened to this drive, which means that you are now wanting to update its firmware, and why do you believe that updating its firmware is the correct action?

I used the hd to test to see if the xbox360 slim recognize. knowing that it was incompatible. if I installed the hddss.bin for the 120gb hd in my case. after doing so he is not recognized on my computer more secure recognition in it's usb port but not to be used as storage.
suddenly really can be wrong and do not try to update the firmware, and I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject.
but I did shake this file which I have spoken. bin and did not back up, it was my stupidity.

I made this tutorial:

Unfortunately, I didn't understand any relevant parts of that reply :(

If someone else understands your reply, then perhaps you will get some suggestions.

This is only meant to be used on certain models of Western Digital.

The HD is used as an external hard drive after the procedure I did in HD to be recognized in the xbox360. He is no longer operating in Systema opening windows 7, is only recognized by the usb port, but does not open but like USB flash drive. To retrieve it I believe you need the file hd .bin in which I did not backup. I believe that if I get this file .bin hd I can recover it.
