Hi,

because this Fujitsu HDD has been connected to a pc with this adapter for 2.5" to 3.5" HDD:

http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/441

but in the wrong way (power connection on the wrong side).

After this, the HDD was dead.

It should be enough to replace the PCB, isn´t it?

Thank you for any advice.

Ric

Check the fuse.

If not I can supply you a PCB for this.

PM me if interested.

The fuse is top left, marked with an "N".

Use a multimeter to check continuity, it should be closed.

If it's open, either replace it or bridge it.

If that doesn't work right away, then switch it off quickly, you need a new PCB.

If it does happen to work then copy off your data QUICKLY! This should be considered a temporary fix only, as the drive is no longer protected.

Good luck!

He connected the adapter reversed. That means the power was fed to some port bit lines and GND... those lines are dead, and the processor could be also. It is hardly a fuse problem.
