Hi Me!

Hmm.. The drive has been formated ... (you did not mention that before, i assumed the tape get bad ...)

Does the tape drive gets a letter in Windows 9x/XP? If so, i would use winhex or easy recover raw data extraction, as i assume data in tape drives is written in a linear way (no fragmentation)

So what you have to do is use winhex and search for file start (header) and end (probably 000000000). Then copy and paste files, renaming them according to the header information.

(I had a similar case, but it was with windows 95 backup prog and a zip drive) all information in the zip disk was compressed in a single file, so the recover was not so hard

I think tape drives compress data in single files for speed and space optimization
